green tobacco
I just got some JR Cuban Alts (I know). Great price but really green tasting tobacco. I'm not aging them-I'm only a smoke-em-if-you-got-em kind of guy.
Question: Are these things going to get better tasting as I finish the bundle? Construction and burn are already really good. They're just big, fat cigars and I'm not sure I can handle a whole bundle if I don't know they're going to taste better as time goes on. My favorite cheap bundle until this purchase-FDO Corojo Churchills. They've just gotten too expensive and my last bundle wasn't all that good. |

Re: green tobacco
if you're not aging them, what would make them taste better as time goes by?
are you asking about whether they'll taste better in a month? or just whether if you smoke 10 more tomorrow the last one will taste better than the first one?

Re: green tobacco
If the wrapper, binder and/or filler haven't been cured before the cigars were rolled, nothing will improve them. If you're smoking them right after receiving, let them rest a few days before trying them again. I've bought many a smoke from JR and they're always heavily humidified and need to rest.
As for aging cigars...that's usually counted in years....If they are simply young cigars, putting them down till at least after Christmas will most likely improve the smoke.

Re: green tobacco
if you go through a bundle by smoking them once a week, you wont really notice a difference in terms of aging.
however, you may notice a difference in them due to the fact that they are able to rest in a stable environment (hopefully set just right) for a week or two, shipping etc is rough. |
