Re: Wrapper question-

Leave it on! Leave it on!

Doesn't hurt anything and it can help protect the cigar from bumping and grinding as you dig around looking for the right smoke. If I had a walk in humi with lots of room I might unwrap...but I don't so I don't.

Re: Wrapper question-

At times with e-mail ads I get from Cuban Crafters, Don Kiki will be quoted with advice about cigar stuff. Recently he recommended that cello wrappers on cigars can be left on if you are going to smoke them within a coupla months but, if you are aging them, you should remove the wrappers.
With the former method, the cello will protect the wrapper and prevent damage, with the latter method, the wrapper removed will allow the wrapper to breath and the flavors to marry; as long as you maintain the proper environment in your longterm humidor for the aging process, your cigars will benefit without the wrapper. In my humi's I have some sticks with cello removed, and most of the others with the cello still on.

Re: Wrapper question-

Leave those wrappers on, it's simply another way to help protect the cigar!

Re: Wrapper question-

Take them off if you are putting them in your humidor. Cigars look cheap with the celo on them and are put on cigars strictly for shipping. Now they are in your humidor, so the shipping is complete. Save the celos though, if you travel, you still have them to rewrap your cigars.

Re: Wrapper question-

On my long term agers, I take off the cello. On ones that I plan on smoking, I just leave the wrapper on and throw them in my desktop humi.

Re: Wrapper question-

After tons of research I came to the conclusion that I am to lazy to take off the celo of 25 cigars.

My everday smokes do not last long anyway.

Re: Wrapper question-

My simple answer is if it came with a wrapper on it I leave it on.

Re: Wrapper question-

I have ten boxes put down in a coolerdor for hopefully the next ten months. I'll be damned if I open the boxes just to take off the cello.
