Recommend a good cigar for my birthday Thursday

I'd like to pickup a good cigar or two for my birthday Thursday (July 6th). I've only tried three so far but my favorite right now is the Padron 3000 Maduro. I didn't like the LVH CC #2 I had, it was much too spicy and irritated my throat. I tend to like sticks with creamy smoke and lots of flavor, no spice. I don't have much money as I'm a college student saving for a humidor but I might be able to splurge just a little for my birthday. Any suggestions? Please list prices I should expect to pay as well.

Thanks guys!

Re: Recommend a good cigar for my birthday Thursday

That's my birthday too! You can stick with the Padron line and give a 1964 Anniversary a try (Serie 26's might be a bit too strong). They are one of the highest rated (for all sizes) sticks on top 25. http://www.top25cigar.com/reviewdata...d=yes&pkID=421
They are not the cheapest ($9 and up) smokes around, and are a bit hard to find, but would make a fine special occasion smoke. There are also many nice Fuentes that are a bit easier to find. A Fuente Cuban Belicoso Sun-Grown is around $6 and real nice.
Good luck and have a Great Bday!

Re: Recommend a good cigar for my birthday Thursday

If you are new to cigars and like a creamy mild smoke (gonna get slapped for this) but try a Macanudo Maduro = 6-8$

A little stronger but Also try:

CAO Maduro = 5-6$
CAO MX2 = 6$
La Gloria Cubana = 5-6$

If money is no object for the B-Day cigar then Padron Annys, or Ashton VSG are nice

Just a few, Hope that helps ya some.

Shawn

Can't go wrong with a Padron 1964 Anniversary. Try a Padron 1964 Principe if money is tight. It's a little cheaper because it is a small stick, but one of the best in the line in terms of flavor / quality of experience. For a little more money you should be able to find a Padron 1964 Exclusivo Maduro without much trouble.

Enjoy!

Re: Recommend a good cigar for my birthday Thursday

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I picked up an El Rey Del Mundo Robusto as recommended by the guy behind the counter and the cigar shop, along with my first cutter (no more using the pocket knife, haha). I hope I enjoy it, I asked for a mild to medium that wasn't spicy. I wish I would've asked more questions because looking around it appears there are more than one El Rey Del Mundo Robusto and I have no idea which I bought. I have the same problem with my three Sancho Panza's.

Seems you have your B-Day smoke all picked out, so I guess I will just throw in a Happy Birthday.

Re: Recommend a good cigar for my birthday Thursday

I like the same type of flavour that you do Joey. So creamy and cheaper....well the Brazilia is an awesome smoke. Strong, but not too strong. Maybe in the medium line. Good price too in the CAO line (some i think are a little high). I think the Gol! or the Inpanema is pretty good...round 5-6 bucks. Another cheaper and deff. creamy is the Camacho El Legend-Ario. It is the unbanded one. It's a bit stronger but is good. round 5 bucks at my B&M. Have not tried any of the Padron Anni's but everyone rants and raves about them so I assume they are worth the money. Hey, if all else fails, you could go to your backup smoke...the Padron 3000 M. Those are one of my fav's as well. Either way, enjoy your smoke and your birthday.

Okay, Joey. Where will you be on Wednesday? I think I can save you a trip to the store. PM me your phone number to reach you on the 5th.

Woops. Missed the "I went to the store already...", but if you get your number to me via a PM, I will try to get another one for you light up for the birthday celebration. I remember the college budget thing.

Happy Birthday!

For a great cigar at good prices try:

-El Rey del Mundo Robusto Larga
-Rilogy Native Cameroon (or exotic maduro if thats your thang) Torpedo

If youre gonna go all out for your Bday, i think the favourites been mentioned-you just cant go wrong with a PAM '64!
