I'd say it's either too wet or not enough puffing going on. Most cigars are shipped wet from the manufactor and on from the vendor. If I have a smoke that I haven't had laying around for several months - and it feels or I suspect it's going to be on the wet side - I will just lay it on my desk for a few hours before I smoke it. I have also had ones that I just let go out, snip the end off - and then let it sit for a few hours in the ashtray. Works for me anyway - your mileage may vary.

hmmm, I'll try lowering the RH a little bit more and try taking some fuller puffs before I ash out so it keeps hot.

Thanks for all the advice. I suspect the lack of experience in smoking a cigar is probably one of my main problems I think that was either the 4th or 5th cigar I've ever smoked in my life.
