ideas for cigar club

There is about 10 guys that meet at my house and smoke cigar together. Two of us know about cigars. I know what I like, yet it is hard for me to suggest what the other guys should try. I need some help what would you guys say would be good for some beginners to try. I like Cohibas, Don Tomas, Punch, and Opus X, yet most of the guys will try them yet are not really ready for those. We had some Punchs tonight and they went over better than anything in the past. What do you guys think?

Which Punch? I always like to reccomend the Padron Thousand line (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000) natural, Joya De Nicaragua Celebration, La Aroma de Cuba, Torano Signature Series...just a couple of my NC suggestions

For a newb, try rocky patel vintage 1990, very smooth, or something light like a fonseca.

Re: ideas for cigar club

Since they like Punch, why not Hoyo de Monterrey?

Have you tried something on the slightly milder side ... like a Romeo y Julieta? The 1875 Clemenceau is nice....

I would get them started with the Padron x000. Or, for something on the milder side, perhaps CAO gold or Cusano 18.

Carlos Torano also makes some good and practical smokes. Try their sig series or their silver 1959 series.

The 1916 Cammies are perfect for a novice smoker, IMO.

Re: ideas for cigar club

To really get someone into it I like to go with something with a Cameroon wrapper. The CAO Lannis is a good example. But most of the CAO line seems very beginner friendly to me.

I thought Romeo y Julieta, I will try that. I will try the CAO also, One guy tried CAO the other day and he said it was ok. Thanks for all the suggestion! If any one else has some let me know

Re: ideas for cigar club

The suggestions above for brand are all great, but if theyre new i recommend starting them on a smaller cigar like a Corona or a Robusto to avoid burn problems, nicotine sickness etc.
