NCs with C's Namesakes? What's Your Fav?

This is a discussion on NCs with C's Namesakes? What's Your Fav? within the Cigar Questions forums, part of the General Cigar Discussion category; ERDM is decent, although the NC Choix Supreme dosn't hold a candle to the Havana though....

NC Montecristo Afrique. To me, every bit as good as the C Montecristos that I have had. Honduran Punch Gran Cru are right up there for me. Nothing like the Cuban Punch at all, but I like them anyway.

On the whole, I have to agree that some of the better cigars do not have the old Cuban names. Padron makes a consistantly good cigar. I absolutely love Davidoff 1000 series cigars. Fuente makes a good product, the Don Carlos line being particularly excellent.

In summary, other than the Monte Afrique and the Punches, I am not real partial to any of the other Cuban named cigars.

Punch Rare Corojo's are excellent (imo), as well as Monte Whites (for a milder smoke)

Epic:
I have probably never had a cuban cigar but, I have had lots of non cuban cigars that are excellent. Some of the namesake cigars I have had I bought because of their taste, and they were good. Now without knowing the difference between a cuban and a non, I can attest to their quality as non cubans. OTOH, there are many more non cuban (non namesake) cigars that are hand over fist better than namesake cigars. I look for the kinds of things that set a cigar apart from others, and the joy is, there are a lot of em.
In this case then...ignorance is bliss
