Ashton VSG

Never tried the VSG but have heard that they are great and looking to try them, and see if they live up to the hype. Does this deal for $45.50 plus shipping sound good? Thanks in advance...

The Ashton VSG sampler outsells all our other samplers combined. It is a powerful cigar; rich, bold and full-bodied. No cigar has been more imitated and it is safe to say the VSG started the entire movement towards cigars with true strength of character and flavor. No manufacturer has ever matched the Ashton VSG simply because it is the very finest. The Ashton VSG is in a league of its own.

Contains 1 each:
Spellbound, Illusion, Robusto, Tres Mystique and Corona Gorda

Re: Ashton VSG

It is up to the buyer. I have had one vsg and did not like it. However, everyone I have talked to loves them and I have a few more and therefor will give them another try. I wouldnt buy 5 at one time but go with one at a time to see if I like them, then I would get a sampler (I was gifted mine that is why i had multiples). That is me though. If you have had one and liked them, go for it.

Keep us posted on what you decide.

Re: Ashton VSG

I might find a place that sells singles and just get one or two, instead of getting five. Otherwise, this sampler has one and some other good sticks as well - it is from Holts ($42.95 - www.holts.com). It would give you a chance to try some other fuentes if you haven't already.

1 each:
Ashton VSG Sorcerer
Arturo Fuente Anejo #77 Shark
Arturo Fuente Cuban Belicoso Sungrown
Ashton Cabinet Selection #2
Arturo Fuente Hemingway Work of Art Natural

I would definitely try a VSG, I don't think they are as good as a padron anniversary or a tatuaje, however, they are pretty good for NC cigars.

Re: Ashton VSG

Like Monte#2 said, I don't think I'd rate these higher than a Padron Anni. Yet, they are still good smokes. The VSG sampler from Holts has been pretty tempting. Might pull the trigger on that one day.

Re: Ashton VSG

I think getting more than one at a time is a good idea to try them out. The reason being that if you dont like the first one you will try it again... so many things affect a cigars taste, i.e. mood environment, maybe a bad stick and such that judging a whole line based on one experience is not accurate. I say go for the fiver... it is a good deal, and see what you think, it will give you a chance to form an accurate oppinion.

Love the VSG's Tres Mystique and the Sorcerer. I would definately try the sampler because they all have a different taste. You may find one that you like more than the others. My

Re: Ashton VSG

In the VSG my favorite isn't in that sampler; the Enchantment.. The Spellbound and Illusion are very good too. The sampler is a good way to try most of the sizes though, and ~$10 a stick is not any more than you will pay locally; could be less depending on the tax in your state.

I really like the VSG. The sampler is the cheapist method to purchase them that I have seen. It is a good deal if you wind up liking them.

I really like the Illusion, and the Enchantment like Txmatt. I have been sitting on a wizard for about 4 months now. Maybe time to give that 56RG beast a try.

Each one in that sampler has a different flavor profile IMHO.

YMMV.....of course

Re: Ashton VSG

I had my first VSG tonight. (Didn't note the name, I didn't realize they had different names. Sort of a Robusto size.) Spicy all the way down to the last inch-and-a-half, then smoothed out. Wasn't unpleasantly hot on the tongue until the last inch or so. Good aftertaste too. One of those need-a-roach-clip cigars...this is a keeper!!!
