green spots (not raised) definitely mold?

Last night I had a 5 vegas classic that has been in the humi for a month or two. The humidity has been 70% or less. I noticed some green spots on the wrapper between the band and the head. The spots were not raised at all and there was no fuzziness. It appeared that the wrapper itself was green, not that there was something green on the wrapper.

I smoked it although I was a bit freaked out that my lips were right on the green spots. It tasted great -- nothing noticeably wrong.

When I got home I pulled some others out (but not all) and inspected them and found nothing.

So is this the beginning of mold or is there another explanation for a green wrapper?

Could just be an anomaly while aging/fermenting that you didn't notice. Perhaps this leaf just didn't ferment evenly and had a couple 'claro' spots on it from coming into contact with something.

If you brush the spot with your finger, does the green come off?
If not then I think Hammerhead is correct.

Sounds like a water spot. Nothing to freak-out about.

The green did NOT come off when I rubbed it. The cigar was still wrapped in the cello so I don't know how it could have gotten water drops. I did recently recharge the credo with 50/50 and some could certainly dripped.

I've had this on a couple of sticks. I also noticed that a photo in on of my cigar books had this on it. I don't know what it is, but they smoked fine.

They come from the factory that way, sometimes. "Spots" are often seen and they are caused by water durring the curing or aging process.

You see this alot with habanos and seconds.

If I were to find myself in a location where the purchase of Habanos was legal, and the sticks had a few irregular greenish spots no larger than 1/16th of an inch in diameter that would be fine?

That is, the spots are not bad?

Thanks.

The green spot are from the fermentation stage when in the barn and fermenting water drops kept falling on that part of the leaf. nothing worng with it.
