Favorite Expensive Stick

I’ve seen a couple threads about favorite or good cheap sticks, but nothing on expensive, overpriced, jaw dropping priced cigars. I’m talking minimum $15.00 per stick. I’m also talking about NC’s but feel free to list ISOM’s There are a few that come to mind – Graycliff, Davidoff, Partagas 150 & 160 & Decadas, special edition Fuentes (when internet sites gouge), Diamond Crown, Padron Anny, Aurora, Ashton ESG (I actually got an email of “Specials” today this particular site wanted over 30 bucks for one of these). I know there are a lot more but I want to hear yours. And I know that price depends a lot on the availability in your area. I have a few but my favorites are probably a Davidoff Double <<R>> or Opus X Perfecxion #2. So let’s hear your most indulgent guilty pleasure.

Re: Favorite Expensive Stick

The best expensive stick I've had so far is a Cohiba Sublime. Very yummy. Should be even better next year when I dip in for the next one.

Mine are Davidoff Special R, Padron 40th Anni, and a little bit less than your $15 limit is my current favorite NC premium and that is the Corojo RP Olde World Reserve. They are definitely one of the smoothest cigars I have ever had and that includes cubans.

Re: Favorite Expensive Stick

NC wise the anejo shark is the one that is one the top of my list, other then that some of the tatuajae stuff can get about that expensive and is a wonderful cigar

I did have a churchill size DR Davidoff churchill millenium series that had been resting for a couple of years. That was a heck of a sick.

Davidoff Anniversario No.2
Davidoff Diademas Finas
Davidoff 4000
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Corona Gorda

I usually do not smoke $10.00+ sticks. But when I do, the above are my go to sticks. Particularly the Davidoffs.

Beat me to it on the anejo shark. It is one of the best smokes I have had in a LONG time.

Anejo #50, #49, #48, #46 . . . you get the point.

The tatuaje cojonu 2003s are about 13 bucks a stick and are very good as well.

You must be in love with those Anejos now, that's all you talk about. I think you need to share.

Don't worry you got some coming, just taken my recent purchase out of the freezer, in a couple of weeks they will be as good as new (PM me your address so I have it, I am pretty sure I owe you after you destroyed my apartment).

Honestly, I look in my humidor and all I want to smoke is an anejo. I have been having such a crappy time at work lately, that when I do smoke, I want it to be really really good. I have a lot of stuff I want to try sitting around, but I have been grabbing the go-to sticks. Which for me, at least lately, has been a lot of tatuajes and anejos.

What can I say, one you find something you like, stick with it.

Re: Favorite Expensive Stick

Guess the one I have liked the most is the Padron 1964 line. My biggest disappointment has been with the Padilla Miami 8/11 Salomon. At $22+ a pop they did not seem to have much pop. Had 5 by way of trade, smoked one, passed one on to a fellow BOTL and have now put the rest away for a while. Smoked a few other of the Miami 8/11 line and have not been impressed.

Re: Favorite Expensive Stick

I have been disappointed with most of the $15 and over cigars I have smoked. While I like the Opus X & Padron 1926, I think I enjoy the Chateau Fuente and 300 better. The Greycliffs I have tried were good, but would not make me want to spend the money to get more.

I have a bunch of Opus X that I am trying to get some age in. Maybe in a year or two I will give them another try and see if they do anything more for me. But usually when I smoke a $20 cigar, I end up thimking I could have got a bundle of something like a Rocky Patel Fire, that I would enjoy just as much if not more.
