Royal Jamaica

I've been searching online regarding this topic and did not have much luck... Does Royal Jamaica still exist? I see the Gold line quite often, is this a different company? The reason for asking is that around 97/98 I had quite a few of the Churchills and just remember them fondly... So, I'm looking for that same cigar to see if I still enjoy it that much.

Thanks!

I agree.

Really enjoyed the old blend. It might still be available, remember seeing a special in a JR (I think) catalog many months ago - but you had to buy the new ones to get the old ones so I passed.

It is my understanding that everything made in DR is the new blend. You might want to ask them before you order.

The old blend comes from the factory in Jamaica. That factory burned down sometime in the late 90's I think. They tried to re-establish but couldn't so now they are made in DR.

Re: Royal Jamaica

Yeah, I had a Royal Jamaica Gold that I got in a sampler. Didn't like it, so blah. Put it down half-way through.

Re: Royal Jamaica

FWIW... I LIKE the new Royal Jam Golds.

With 6 or 7 months of rest, they're a very nice mild-medium smoke with a very distintive flavor.
