Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

So, I've ordered the humidor, I've ordered the beads, I've ordered a case to put my cigars in when i'm out and I've ordered a new lighter. Whats missing from this list?

Yes! Cigars!

How can i start a cigar collection without cigars!

righty oh, to the point. I would like to have around 20 odd cheap "every day" smokes, so i can try a few different sizes and have some fun without blowing my budget .

if you reccomend a cigar could you please link me, so i can see what site i can get it off at that price

Right, so i was wandering if you guys could give me some pointers for the $0-2 range of cigars out there, i've seen one or two for the price (Flor De Oliva and Hondurian Primeros spring to mind). Are there any others for these prices, and any reccomendations?

Just so you know, i like biggish ring gauges (from any i've smoked so far) anything over 40 is cool, anything 50+ is a bonus, length wise i like anything above 5-6 inches

thanks for your time guys, much appreciated

once i get a little list from here, i'll check my budget and might come back for some other ideas on slightly more expensive cigars

thanks again!

Andy,
There is a wealth of information here on Club Stogie. Dig in and enjoy the feast. The search function can be helpful as well as well as just browsing around. Here are a couple to get you started.

Do you like mild, medium or full bodied smokes?

Are there any cigars that you already like? List them so we have an idea of what you like.

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

Really, i'm willing to try anything . But i think i generally prefer the medium to full bodied .

I havn't really tried any cigars that i see advertised on the internet, I'm really new lol. But yeah, i think experimentation, to find the cigars i like comes into this aswell

thanks

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

Hi Andy. The Flor de Olivas are really good but are more mild to medium.
As pnoon says, there's tons of info on good bundled cigars on this site and I would recommend checking out some of the bundled cigars available Uncle Mikey's (www.mrbundles.com).

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

If someone had told me 6 months ago to just buy Famous 3000's (they have a 60 gauge BTW) and Brahmas from Holts I would have been a happy man. I bought loads (mostly 5ers from CBid) to figure out what I like. I guess I've got lots of aging stock though And I am still figuring it out.

But here are two fantastic, nice and full Nicaraguan smokes - on the cheap.

http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/s....cfm/st/search

You can backorder the 3000's and still get free shipping

http://www.holts.com/cgi-bin/ncommer..._points=&mode=

Brahmas have been on closeout for a while, and they are getting low on robustos. Shipping is $5.00 for however much you buy. So If you get them, throw in some 3 and 4 packs of Buena Cosechas. Don't let the price fool you - they are very good, but the Brahmas are the first ones you need to put in your shopping cart.

Cheers,

BillyBarue

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

Andy,

I don't know about the "Big Deal" they showed up in the latest catalog. My experience with Holts is fairly recent, but their write-up sounds pretty good.

Sending you a PM for more lengthy explanation.

Cheers,

BillyBarue

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

i totally agree with any of the Flor de Oliva for the under $2 range. you can actually chose between any of the bundles for this price:
gold
original
maduro
corojo

however if you like a big RG you might try these (at box price it is around $2)

http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/s...cfm/inum/20902

there was also mention of sancho panza, here they have some 5ers:

Enjoy!
Ill add cinco vegas (5 Vegas) and Cuba Aliados (they are not Cuban in origin, just in name). Both are medium-full bodied and can be found for around 30.00 - 45.00/box! I really like both brands for daily smoking and aging.

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

In the same vein as the La Vieja Habana Cedar Chateau's, I had a Spirit of Cuba in the Habano (maduro) wrapper this weekend. I'll put it against the CC #2 anyday. Nice solid richness that was unexpected. It's a Cuban sandwich cigar, but TERRIFIC for the price - around $25 a box or so...

Re: Reccomendations on cheaper cigars

Hmmmmmmm.......... good, cheap cigars. There are so many, you almost can't go wrong (unless you're looking for something that's cheaper than $2 a stick). I've had some good cheaper La Gloria Cubanas, and (my favorite) C.A.O. Golds (I've been able to find them cheap). As for cigars that are readily available at most shops...... well, that's why they're available. Please, PLEASE, do NOT ruin your humidor by putting "throw-aways" in there (you know, White Owls, Swishers, you know the rest........).
