Question.

Just smoked one of these tonight and my first thought was that it tasted like a mixture of CAO's Gold and Black cigars. Mild and vanilla-y like the
Gold, cedary like the Black. Got me to thinking that all three cigars must be from the same manufacturer, that the Davidoff blend was merely mid way between the two cigars.

Does anyone know?

They are not made by the same company but they do share similarities. Davidoff and AVO are made by Henke Kelner and CAO are made by CAO and Torano (I think).

My understanding is that Davidoff has their own factory in the Dominican Republic that produces Davidoff, Zino, and Private Stock brands. Also, the CAO Black has a blended Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Mexican filler. I think it may just be coincidental that they taste somewhat similar. I really like the Davidoff Millenium series myself, I may review one someday and I would welcome a review from you as well.

Thanks omo.

Yeah the millenium blend was very good and it didn't make my clothes stink (though sometimes I like that).

A little on the price-y side for me though.

This is one of my favorite all time cigars. I save them for special occassions because they are pricey. I have tried the Gran Cru as well-nice smoke.

Re: Davidoff Millenium Blend Short Robusto

Yes, the Millineum blend is tasty. I found it to be fuller body than the grand cru series.

Yes the Davidoffs are pricey, but they have always been extremely well constructed and very flavorful IMO. Not going to bowl you over, but it will deliver the same quality time again & again. I think they are worth the price, but are a special occasion smoke like Marianne said.
