Re: What do all the acronyms mean?

More questions but first a little ( since there isn't much) of my cigar history.

My first cigar was 16 years ago and was not a great one. I was working at a retail store "Den for Men" here in Canada that was part of the "United Cigar store chain family".
I didn't smoke all that often until about 2 years ago, when I was given a box of Cohiba Esplendidos from Cuba. That started me off and running.

Now those acronyms were helpful but knew most of them. What about some of the other lingo out here I am kind of lost and uneducated in some of these terms....try not to laugh to long ( a little is okay)..but what is a HERF?? It is some sort of get together but do the letters stand for anything? Is there a place here or some websites that outline a bunch of the acronyms and jargon so at least I understand what people are saying?

Thanks Gentlemen I apreciate any and all input.

Re: What do all the acronyms mean?

Another question from the resident clueless dude. I saw that this was asked above but I didn't see the answer...

Herf. I gather that it means smokin' stogies, ususally in a group?. But where did it come from? Is it an acronym? or just a catchy word?

You can use the search function (in the orange bar above) and look up herf. An answer was posted sometime ago, researched real well, back to its first use/origins.
I kinda' like thinking of the Smurfs. You know how it is, everything was smurf. Smurf this, smurf that, etc. . .
Well, a herf can be someone who likes to herf, or it can be the activity of herfing, or it can be the style (adjective) with which someone does things or herfs. You get the idea!!

You can also check out the definition of herf posted by Poker (he's a Big Kahuna here at CS) HERE .

Re: What do all the acronyms mean?

P.S. Here's what LeafHog wrote me: "Herfin smurfs!" (My feeble brain thought the same thing, but I was too chicken to actually put that in a response!)
