If I like the Cuesta-Rey?

If I like the Dominican Cuesta Rey and want a bit heavier smoke which one should I get?? I like the Dominican flavor profile and would like one with a bit more kick but a similar flavor. Give me a suggestion!

The sun grown cuesta-rey's are really good, It has a little more kick to it than other cuesta's I've tried. You could also try Trilogy exotic maduro's rothschild. They aren't bad at all, especially for the price.

Re: If I like the Cuesta-Rey?

If you like CRs, you'd probably like the Fuentes.

The Fuente Sungrowns are great smokes for the $$$. Try the Chateau Fuente SG or the Cuban Beli SG. You won't be disappointed.

Since you like the Dom Rep profile, try La Unica Cammies if you can find them. Not as strong, but a good smoke IMHO.

If you want to spend more $$$, get some DC Max (I like the Toro) or Anejos.........these are fuller bodied smokes along the same lines as the CR. They are a bit stronger and more complex IMHO.

Happy Hunting!

I agree with Fuente Sungrowns. You also can never go wrong with anything from the LFD Ligero or Double Ligero lines.

Re: If I like the Cuesta-Rey?

I think that along the same flavor profile as the Cuesta Rey Centenario Maduro that the Partagas Spanish Rosado is just a wee bit stronger with a very similar taste. I am not sure if it is Dominican or not (easily found out). Of course I realize that this is totally subjective but that is what I would try.

I would also steer your towards the Fuente SG. If price is a consideration, I would try the Chateau Fuente SG, they are a good deal.

Re: If I like the Cuesta-Rey?

I haven't had any Cuesta Reys, but I would also say the AF Sun growns are great.

TXMatt recommends the Flor de Ybor City Belicoso Sungrown. These are also from the AF Family. Haven't pulled the trigger on those yet?
