Gurkha Warlord

While I was at my B&M he finally got a box of these in. Now I'm a little confused here. The band says Gurkha Legend but the box said Warlord. I have found VERY little reference to the Warlords. Not even on there site. The box was a heavily embossed with brass. Looked like an old chest or trunk. I bought 3 for $6 ea. but have yet to smoke them. Anybody know about Warlord?

I've never heard of it either, but my guess is that it's a special release in the Legend series like the Beast.

Let us know how it is when you try one of the suckers!

Re: Gurkha Warlord

Wow... according to my B&M, they were supposed to have the national release at their store on Thursday. At least, that is what the Gurkha rep said. I won't tell.

I'll probably pick a few up at the tasting on Thursday. Thanks for the picture. Now I know what to look for.

Re: Gurkha Warlord

Haven't smoke one of these but I found this from notes taken at RTDA 2006 Las Vegas:

"Warlord - With a name like Warlord, you would expect something robust and satisfying. Well, Gurkha delivers with this massive, 7" x 55 vitola. To create this eye-popping cigar, Kaizad (Hansotia) combines a juicy Nicaraguan wrapper that's dark and durable with a complex mixture of Nicaraguan long-fillers. To tame this beast, a smooth Connecticut binder is added to complete a medium to full-bodied smoke. Expect an array of rich, meaty flavors with a subtle hint of coffee. To package the Warlord, considered to be Gurkha's finest blend yet, Kaizad created a beautiful, antique-style mahogany chest with bronze accents. 30 cigars per chest."

Thank you! That's the most info I've found on them.

Re: Gurkha Warlord

Heard a lot about this brand, but have yet to try one. Sounds interesting.

Any chance of posting a pic of the cigar chest they come in? Sounds as cool as the cigars.

Re: Gurkha Warlord

I think they are ok. Me and two other buddies bought a box (got a bunch of freebies with it) for use at our weekly poker parties. They are good, but a long smoke. My buddies really seem to enjoy them, so, more for them.
