Setup time?

I've recently spoken to some cigar manufacturers by telephone & I asked them how much setup time I should allow their cigars after shipping. To my surprise, they say 2 or 3 days & they should be good to go.
Now the general consensus I have gleened from the posts on this & one other forum is that you should give a cigar at least one week, but two is better. Any thoughts from the Gorillas?

I have personally seen some cigars that seemed unaffected by the trauma of shipping halfway across the country in a hot or cold truck. On the other hand, I have seen cigars that took over a month to settle. I had one box that tasted like crap for several months, but turned into a heck of a cigar (this cigar might have been going through the "sick" period).

Anyway what are your thoughts. BTW, this topic had probably been discussed any number of times, so I aplogize if am bringing up a worn out topic.

Re: Setup time?

Well, I certainly do not have the depth of experience that many others have on this forum, but I can honestly say that in all cases I find a 2-3 week rest/adjust period to benefit the cigars........that is with the exception of Padron maduros which I am simply in awe of and which by all of my experiences seem to show that there is no need to wait before enjoying the pleasure that is Padron........mmmmmmm.......
