I stop when it stops tasting good and I quit enjoying the experience. Sometimes a few inches, sometimes past the band, sometimes until my fingers burn.

I try to smoke it down to the very end. I smoke a lot on the road. I try to select a size that will be let me get to the nub just as I get to my destination.
It's funny some of the things that I've learned. I know that some robustos will out last another brands double corona because it is more heavily packed. A skinny toro has outlasted many churchills. My pet peeve is when the cigar finishes well before the ride ends, but not soon enough to light another without wasting it.

It depends on the cigar. Some start to get bitter as they burn down. If I feel that coming, then I will stop. Others I will just keep going until they are too hot.

I agree. Once a cigar gets too bitter or spicy I will put it out. However if I am really enjoying it I'll let it go until I feel the heat coming off the cigar.

If it's a good one I've been known to blister a finger. Finally got smart and got a nubber. I know guys ( DBC ) who can take it down to the half inch mark,,,amazing!

For me it really depends on the cigar. A lot of times I seem to lose interest in the cigar, or it'll get too intense for me.
I've been known to smoke some down to the point it threatens to set my mustache on fire though.

The cigar has to be VERY good before I will nub it...The ring guage I smoke (44-46) normally gets too hot at that point...

For me it depends on the cigar really. If the cigar is incredible I will smoke it until I burn my fingers. If it burns hot or is just an ok cigar I usually go between 1" and 2".
