Where to buy 858 Sungrown?

Honestly, I smoked one and wasn't very impressed. I would take an anejo or opusX over one of these anyday. I have not tried any of the other Fuente SGs, so I do not know how they compare.

I smoke A LOT of AF SG's.

I'm currently working on a box of the Cuban Beli's. I've torched several boxes of the Chateau and Double Chateaus as well.

All have a similar profile imho. I've smoked a handfull (6-7) of the 858 SG's and I would say they have a slightly different profile (perhaps a little sweeter/milder than the others). The differences imho aren't worth getting excited about.

For the $$$$$ they are getting for the 858's (due to the rarity), I would rather buy twice as many Cuban Beli's. Overall, I like them best for the $$$$$.........great smoke imho.

$11? really now? I think msrp is like $4 so that's not as bad as I was told, I wa told that they sell for around $25. Must've been a "he said, she said" sorta thing.

I plan to take a trip with my father at the end of the year, I think I should fire up my 858 SG soon.

Yep, $11 per stick, I picked up six of them (three each day). Not sure if they still have them in stock, they only had one box out at that time, which was a while ago.

The Chateau's are very similar in profile.(why they all have the black ribbons ) If you can get your hands on them then tear it up, and if you can't then pick up some of the Chateau's. They won't disapoint.

I tried to get them right around Christmas time at Casa for another brother, but they were out at that time.

I just picked up a box of sungrown Chateaus from JR for $66... They are not listed online, but if you call they might still have them in stock.

to be honest with you. I smoked it about a year ago and it really didnt do much for me and dont remember the flavor profiles much.I just remember being a little let down. Dont get me wrong it was good but not something that stands out.but thats just personal preference.I prefer Opus over it. let me see if my buddy has anymore. he might sell some to you at a reasonable price. I have smoked about a half dozen of the 858 SGs, a couple of years ago and I really loved them. Then they simply became all but impossible to find. A few months ago, I came across a sealed box available from a private seller. The asking price was $300

I did as much research as I could within the few days that I had the window to purchase them. I spoke with Tampa Sweethearts, I believe Moki and several others. From what I was able to learn, the 858 SGs were only produced in 2002 and never again. The belief is that they will never be produced again. Based on that limited information and the cost of them, when they can be found, especially in sealed boxes, I decided to purchase that sealed box, which is resting in my Igloodor!

Took a lot of patience and searching various cigar sites, but was eventually successful in buying a box off of JRs for about $100 back in early January.

Tough to come by these days.
