Aging the Gurkha Ledgend Anni. Perfecto
I have some of these left over from June '06, fired on up the othe day and
it was almost tastless. I know that they supposedly have been aged up to 8 years. I'm gonna try another one this weeked and see if it was just a fluke. I was just wondering if anyone else has experinced this? Or does it have something to do with the profile of the cigar?(med-full or just med, not sure).

I had a pretty young one and didn't taste much either...I was hoping it just needed some age.
Hmmm.... ![]()

I have some of these and each time I have smoked one I find them to be tasty, complex and well made. The ones I have are now over a year or so in my humi's and I also have several I am keeping in my aging tupper/cooler - dor. I recommend you try keeping in at 65% RH

That sucks for both of ya'll. I'm no expert but I've aged plenty of Zgars. IME a cigar that tastes like a wholelotta nothing to begin with is gonna be the same or worse with any extended peiod of aging. A great cigar can get better with age(and especially a harsh young one) but aging a bland cigar is generally a waste of time/trouble IME. I'm with donp and many here on RH. I find 65-68% to be perfect for most cigars but the only avaliable humidification I've seen that will keep a perfect 68% costs to much.

I use 65% beads and they keep the RH steady. I don't know about 68% though, to me that would be a pretty complicated balancing act to try for.

I suggest you ensure they are at a proper RH (I like 70 for aging and 65 for smoking) and bury them for another 6 months and revisit them. ![]() |

Thanks txmatt, I have been having these stored at 65% because I like the way they smoke and I have too many issuses with controlling temp.
I alwayz wondered if some NC's go through a sick period. Can I pm some questions about this? Thanks for everyone else's input also.

Just thought I would update for those who were interested.
I smoked one of those Legends bout a month or so ago, and it was a whole different animal. All the flavors were back but more refined(?) So it's all good!! |
