How many of you guys remove the plastic wrapper when you put it into the humi? I've read that you should take them off, but what about aromas mixing. Can this affect the taste and flavor of each cigars?

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
I think your cigars will be fine with cello on. Mine have always been fine, although now I usually take them out of the cello because I like the appearance better. I always take them out of the metal tubes, though.

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
Most of my cigars don't come with cello, so I would have to say take it off. I've never had any problem with flavors mixing among my sticks.

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
Leaving them on protects them, but slows the aging process some. The cello is permiable and therefore does age.
On the long termers and those I will probably take fishing I'll leave em on. The ones I will smoke within 3 mos are naked. Than there are those that I will clip the ends of the cello but leave in the wrapper because I don't know what or when or how I'll smoke em. I have never noticed any difference with smokes left naked with other cigars. Some say flavored cigars will effect them, but I don't smoke flavored so can't comment. Try all three and see which one you like, have fun the experimenting and learning is half the fun.

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
Cello on or Cello off has been debated into the ground on several boards. It really doesn't matter but there are a few plusses or minuses to each.
Cello on does protect the cigar better Cello on prevents marrying if you believe in that Some people believe cigars age more quickly cello off as it allows more air to circulate around the cigar Most of the time I leave the cello on.. -Matt- |

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
I'm trying both ways right now: Got my OpusX supply half with / half without the plastic stuff. I figure they probably only wrap em in cello because they're rarely sold by the box and cello keeps em safe, but I thought I'd experiment.
I also often wonder whether a cigar in cello is more likely to bloom than one laying out in a large Humi uncovered. It seems to me there must be something about a cigar doing its aging in a smaller environment where gases and flavours don't waft very far from the cigar but continuously envelope it. Kinda like a fart in an elevator...... ![]() |

I live my cigars in what ever packaging I buy them ie.. celo boxes, tubes...... Its all about prefrence. If you like the look of them naked then take the celo off. There isnn't no difference in the long run and short term is negotiable. Hope that helped. |

I take off. Why? Because it looks better. Good reason huh?

Cigars in the nude. Sounds like the title to a painting. I also like how they look without the wrapper.

Re: Removing Cellophone Wrapper
IF it comes with cello, leave it, if it comes naked, leave it. Doesn't really matter from what I've gathered, this is just what I do.
