I try to warm it up first then I bring the flame a little closer while rotating the cigar, the flame should "jump" on the cigar. Lightning up correctly is a ritual that I enjoy thoroughly. I gues it's just the kid in me that likes to set things on fire.

My two cents:
1. Set up a coolerdor. Lots of space, minimal cost. 2. Use a flame. I try to do all of that special stuff that everyone talks about for the proper light, and it really is the best way to do it. But so much of the time I just simply light 'em up with a flame and enjoy the smoke.
