I started out with a few samplers, and I'm glad I did. Had the chance to experience a few different brands and it helped me figure out what I liked best.

Whoops! I just found out the link I posted on the Powerhouse 16 deal is no longer good. The new link is:

www.powerhouseoffer.com/T7367

Sorry for the confusion.

Sample packs are just that...a great way to try new smokes, different brands and different lines of smokes that you do enjoy. Seems most online cigar retailers offer them. Spend some time checking some out based on smokes you like.

Samplers are great to try different cigars without pulling the trigger for a hole box.....of maybe DOG ROCKETS

Re: Are Sample Packs a good idea?

I bought a couple of samplers when I was starting out, and I still buy them from time to time. I like to try a bunch of different cigars, and samplers are a cheap way to do it.

Re: Are Sample Packs a good idea?

I've only been into cigars for about 8 months and I've yet to buy a box of anything. So far I've only bought singles and samplers. It definitely is a good way to go while you learn. At this point I don't want a box of even my favorites because I'm having too much fun sampling a big variety.

Is there a RIGHT way to do this? Or am I just going to end up buying a bunch of "That one looks nice" at my FNCS?

Sample packs are a great idea, especially if it takes a few cigars to decide if you like something or not. I like to order 5-paks when I'm thinking about trying a cigar that has been suggested to me. Gives me a couple chances to make sure if I like them or not.

Fuente sampler at Tampa Sweethearts would be your best bet.

CAO also makes a nice one with a variety of tastes and sizes.
(Plus an informative DVD).

Re: Are Sample Packs a good idea?

no sample packs are a waste of time, you should buy full boxes of cigars you have never tried, that way if you don't like it you are stuck with an entire box that you can use for bombs
