I'm not sure why the 90/92 Vintage Series are considered full-bodied, because honestly they're an excellent slow smoke, and I don't find them strong at all. Not as strong as an MX2 for sure, and I smoke those regularly.

They are, however, a very large long smoke. If you're not a serious puffer, be prepared to spend close to two hours casually smoking one.

YMMV however, so samplers are definitely a good investment

For me in that situation, I'd try one of the Rocky Patel Vintage 90's or 92's. They borderline medium to medium-full, depending on how long they've been sitting to age, but of the 100 or so I've smoked of the 92's, none have ever toed the line of full bodied.
Second that, the 92's are currently one of my favorites and certainly not as full as some others I've had.

Welcome to CS fellow Coloradoan! I would suggest that you try some of the (smaller?) 5 Vegas 'A' cigars as well... I hand them out to my golf buddies all the time & never once had someone feel ill. Good luck in your never ending journey

5 Vegas 'A' is a good cigar. I like the Artisans for a good mild to medium smoke.

BTW, I'm already married. Do you mind dancing that jig at my funeral?

Re: Cigar Experts Ahoy! - Question: The Maduro

I second the Padron recommendation... the x000 series (er, 2000, 3000, 4000, etc.) come in a maduro. One of my local B&M guys recommended one when I was still a mild/medium guy. They certainly aren't overly strong by any means, and are a good smoke for bridging the gap (and a good smoke all around).

As far as the light-headedness... that can happen with anything, if you ask me. (Though is certainly easier with stronger sticks.) In my first month, I almost was done in by... the strong, nay, the dreadfully strong... the mighty... the super-super-super-strong-recommended-for-experts-only... MONTECRISTO!!! And I got lots of good advice... namely, eat something and don't smoke so fast.

Re: Cigar Experts Ahoy! - Question: The Maduro

another inexpensive great smoke, if of course you posses the self confidence necessary to smoke, GASP a mixed filler cigar, try the La Veija Habana Maduro's, from tntcigars they are about 30 bucks a box for 20, and always draw well due to my guess, the mixed filler, and the brazilian maduro wrapper is mild-medium and smooth and tasty. Some other people have also rec. the Sancho Panza's which are my favorite smokes, at any price. The Oliva's are also really good, I prefer the special G in you guessed it, maduro.

Try the Avo Maduro for a mild and creamy Maduro.

Re: Cigar Experts Ahoy! - Question: The Maduro

Here are a couple of suggestions that I like. I don't look at them as medium-full, but they are advertised that way....

Maria Mancini Magic Mountain Maduro - Like a chocolate bar.....
La Gloria Cubana Wavell Maduro

And one of my favorite maduro's......you can order these from the Island Smoke Shop!

El Original Toro Maduro......Great Cigar!

Avo Maduro
Padron X000 Maduro

Or no Maduro's at all. Why the need to smoke Maduros? Most of them are too sweet for me (my interpretation of sweet).

Also, next time you are lightheaded drink something with sugar. It'll calm you down slightly.

100%. I specifically asked my local B&M for something smooth and a little strong but not spicy. As soon as I saw the maduro wrapper I thought he was joking (I always associated maduro with strength/spiciness/to-be-feared). Needless to say, he was right and it is one of my favorite smokes to date.

Re: Cigar Experts Ahoy! - Question: The Maduro

My experience is that the maduro version of most smokes are a tad milder and sweeter than their natural counterparts.

For example, the maduro Camacho Corojos and LFDs are quite a bit milder than their natural counterparts IMHO. They have a distinctly different flavor.

For a mild to medium (more medium) bodied choice, I'd go with an Arturo Fuente (green banded) maduro......I'd go with the Rothschild or Chateau Fuente. If you can get your hands on a Fuente Hemingway in maduro, treat your self to a wonderful cigar.

I saw someone above recommended the Maria Mancini. This is an excellent inexpensive choice in maduro. I used to smoke these before I gravitated to stronger cigars. My favorite was the Magic Mountain in maduro.

Re: Cigar Experts Ahoy! - Question: The Maduro

I used to smoke a lot of Maria Mancinis as well. Toro, Magic Mountain and, mainly, deGaulles, all in maduro. I too, went "upward and onward" to other cigars. The DGs were my favorite from this manufacturer but these cigars were not consistant box to box so I quit them.

Both of the cigars from separate boxes were labled maduro. The dark ones smoked well. I didn't like the lighter colored ones at all.

I'll second the vote for the La Gloria Cubana Wavell Maduro. Nicely constructed, great maduro flavor in a not too strong smoke.

Always a few in my humi!
