That's an excellent point, my friend. Yes, I believe that cigar smokers should taste samples of a variety of cardboard and other odds and ends, so that they may better identify the once undefined, unascertained taste of, among others, 'rubbery cardboard' in their cigars.

Did you see if that particular brand had advertising in the magazine? That's usually why and the main reason I don't read that rag.

I mean do you get 75 points just for putting tobacco in a binder and another 5 if you can get a wrapper around it?

So far I've have found that almost without exception that things that they say are really good I enjoy, that we really only differ on stuff they say is average. And its been done mostly blind, I had rated a lot of these sticks prior to reading thier reviews.

The drawback to the rag to me is that if the mag is 150 pages and you took out 75 pages of advertising there are really only about 30 pages devoted to cigars. I mean if I wanted to read about boating I'd have bought a different frakking magazine.

Re: Whats up with those ratings?

I don't get much from CA ratings anyway...I'm not a fan of the magazine at all...It sometimes seems that you could take a swisher sweet, rub it down with Shoe polish for that real dark maduro look...and still score in the mid 80's .....
