LSU Cigar Club?

At LSU we are able to make a new club or meeting group at our school "officially" with 4-5 signatures of people willing to join. I have a question for all you guys, should I look in to starting the club in order to promote the information and the appreciation of cigars and its consumers? Also, if I do so, what would I do for like meetings? Is there a website that will sell a cheap cigar with a custom band in mass production for like hand-me-outs? I just would like to get something started and thought I would ask the best before actually considering it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well I don't really know if this will help you out but maybe do a search on college cigar clubs online and maybe model yours after the other ones that you find on the web.

Re: LSU Cigar Club?

The only bad part about the cigar bars is that they usually only allow 21+ year olds in, and i'm 18..

Re: LSU Cigar Club?

There is a little cigar bar that i ran across in Prairieville. It is small but has a very pleasant, laid back atmosphere. A very enjoyable place. Birdie's Cigar Bar, on Airline Hwy in Prairieville... same shopping center as Anytime Fitness and Kirk's.

Hope this helps.

Don Juan's Cigar Company, which is only about a 10 minute drive from campus, has a very nice smoking area. I've never seen them card someone, and they are not against people bringing in their own cigars to smoke. Our Southern Louisiana Club Stogie herf group has sort of established that place as our herfing spot of choice (which you should join us sometime).

As far as LSU goes, I don't know how keen they'd be on the idea of a smoking club, but who knows. I've been a member of the Paintball Club at LSU for years now, and they give us a lot of grief when we want to set up on campus to try and recruit new members, but they work with us. Good luck with it though! If you get it on the roll PM me and I can give you a link to a guy I knows facebook page who works at Don Juan's and goes to LSU. I'm sure he'd be interested in joining, and helping ya'll set up get togethers at DJ's.
