I've done both, but I generally keep em on. I don't really think they age much faster, if you take em off, & the cello protects the cigar.

I keep them on. Too lazy to pull them off and I agree w/KHat that the wrapper helps protect them. Plus, when I have visitors, they can look through my stock a bit w/o me worrying about cleanliness (I don't know where that finger has been...and that stick might go in my mouth???? I don't think so pal....)
