Band On or Band Off?
I need a little Band "Aid" here. Was wondering who smokes their sticks with the Band on and who smokes their sticks naked. I like to remove the band right away to save it.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I don't like advertising what I smoke and I normally remove the band.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I usually leave the band on until the cigar is in danger of catching it on fire. not because of ego, but to me it is part of the aesthetic of the experience of the smoke. I like looking at the pretty pictures... easily amused. Frank B

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I have recently gotten into the habit of removing the band before I smoke. I would rather people wonder what I am smoking and have to ask. It sparks conversation.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
Remove the ISOM bands, for reason stated above but I leave the band on non cubans if it's one I already have in my collection, otherwise I remove it for safe keeping.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I start off with the band on for the first 1 inch or so and then remove the band. That way I know for sure the glue is loose enough and will not tear my smoke. But If the ring is loose I take it off right away. There is no need to advirtise what I am smoking.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I usually take the band off after an inch or 2. I have killed several cigars by accidently taking the wrapper off along with the band. It really hurts when that happens.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I take it off if the damn thing will come off. I swear some Havanas must use superglue on the bands. I don't have this problem with non-cubans but I have wrestled with many a Havana band. Warm glue or not some of these bands just don't want to leave the cigar.

Re: Band On or Band Off?
I take mine off most of the time before i light but if it stuck I will wait til the glue loosens a bit, just my pref to have them naked. Now one of the guys that I work with smokes his all the way to the band so I guess it is really to each his own. Thanks for the poll on this by the way because it is something that I have read before and was curious about.
