How to store tubos
Here is a question;how do you store cigars in glass tubes? Do they really need to go in the humi or can you just keep them cool?

Re: How to store tubos
I had some glass tubos sealed with a cork stoppers and they dried out. I've seen some with plastic stoppers and those might fare better, but with cork I'd keep them in a humi or cooler.

![]() Tubos help them stay out of the humi longer, but they aren't a replacement for a humi.

Re: How to store tubos
![]() ![]() Sorry folks...the replies here made me chuckle. How's that for a combination of responses? ![]() I would keep mine in the humi for 15 days of the month with the cap off...then out of the humi with the cap on. But every 6 months I would rotate them so the head faces south, but only if it's a full moon. ![]() I apologize for that...couldn't resist. Seriously, as long as it's in the humi it doesn't matter if it's in the tube, cap on, or cap off. Some say cap on will restrict airflow and they will age nicely, but take longer to mature. ![]()

Re: How to store tubos
Much like wine that is stopped with a cork, proper humidity and temperature is essential to insuring they age properly and do not get ruined. The cork breathes, and helps to allow minimal airflow, meaning slower but better aging. As has been said, cork allows for more time out of a humi without ill effects, but is not a substitute for proper humidity procedures, cap on or off as your mehtodology suggests.

Re: How to store tubos
I've had a glass tubo in my humi since the 1990's. I doubt it would look as good if it'd been laying about that much time.

Re: How to store tubos
Keep the cigar the way it came; do not open the cap on a glass tubo cigar.
