Re: Difference b/t strenth and body?

Try this. I think of body being the entire flavor/smoke/complexity profile of the cigar. If the cigar doesn't really justify me thinking about it, it doesn't have much body. If it demands I sit down and appreciate many different aspects including flavor, smell, volume, then I consider it to have a full body. Strength is nicotine level.

Probably some more experienced guys would want to chime in on this as well, but it gets covered quite a bit.

Re: Difference b/t strenth and body?

The following is very similar to what was posted above and here are some parts taken from an article in “The Cigar Diary”:

Strength
Strength is a measure of nicotine only... it's a cigar's "kick."

Flavor
Flavor refers specifically to the: NATURE and DEPTH of tastes a cigar
produces on the palate and lips, and sometimes in the nose and throat as well.

Body
The subjective composite of the combination of:
FLAVOR (nutty, smoky, coffee, bitter,
woodsy, sweet, etc.),
DEPTH of flavor (bland, hints, overtones,
massive, etc.),
TEXTURE (creamy, smooth, biting, etc.),
VOLUME of smoke per puff (thin, generous,
thick, etc.)
AFTERTASTE and its persistence on your
palate (a cigar's "length" or "finish"),
and to a much lesser degree, IMO,
STRENGTH (or nicotine).”

The entire article

Re: Difference b/t strenth and body?

Up from the depths via search-fu! This was the first thing on my list of questions and the article quoted from here by Blaylock answered it perfectly.

With the appearant rate of n00bs here, I thought bringing it back to the surface after nearly a year would be ok.

Anyway, a belated thanks to you Blaylock!
