next camacho to try?

Last month I had a Camacho Liberty Amendment XII and loved it. Then I tried an SLR and wasn't impressed - the flavor just didn't seem very interesting.
I'm looking for opinions on what I might try next, that would be closer to the Amendment than the SLR. Searching around a bit, it looks like people like Corojos, but I've also seen some posts praising the SLR.
So, any advice?

I was recommended the camacho havana by some people on this board and I have to say it is a very good smoke. The ash is one of the best I have seen, construction was wonderfu through the entire box. The price is about the same as the regular corojo as well.

Just polished off a box of Camacho Havana Nationales and thought they were a great smoke at a good price.

Re: next camacho to try?

I really like the Camacho line. Have a 5er left of a box of Toro's (Corojo) that I am going to age and just bought a box of SLR (Colorado Wrapper). I have never tried the Camacho Havana Nationales, or the Camacho Liberty Amendment XII but I am going to look for them since I really do like the Camacho Line.

I am a big fan of the Camacho Diplomas.......Delicious!!!

Some have even commented here that they taste like Cubans.... . I don't know if I'd go that far, but they certainly are good. nice full bodied, nutty flavor, with a spiciness that increases as you smoke it. I recommend them highly.

Yes, I've read that too, about them tasting like Cubans. I do enjoy the Camacho Corojo a lot more than the SLR line, though.

Has anyone heard more news on the Camacho Black??

I second that!!

Diplomas and 11/18's rock!!!........these are stronger and fuller than Camacho's regular "corojo line". I would stick with the natural. I have some of the maddies and they're a little sweeter/milder (not my cup of tea).

I think the Diploma, 11/18, etc. are the class of the Camacho line.

Re: next camacho to try?

I love the Corojos, always have a few in my humi. I also have a few Liberty 11/18's resting in there. Next time I go to the shop I'm going to pick up a few of the 11/18's.

Good advice - I think.
I bought one of these and tried it today.
As it lit, I heard a slight crackle. I thought of the discussion about beetles from last week.
Not to worry, no more crackle. Started smoking.
Got some very nice flavor, until the burn started acting funny. Uneven in a strange way, not just diagonal. After the first time I ashed I thought I saw a beetle trail in the ash. Smoked a bit more. Heard another crackle. Started feeling around the remaining cigar and felt a lump about halfway up. My mind started picturing little beetles crawling away from the burning end and towards my mouth.
My over-active imagination got the better of me and I ripped open the rest of the cigar.
No beetles. The lump was a big vein.
A shame that I didn't get to taste the rest but I wouldn't have enjoyed it for fear of a mouthful of something other than smoke.
I'll certainly try this line again.
