In the Sub $20 range I would recommend both the Havana Cigar Cutter that is only $4 at bargainhumidors.com.

I actually picked up one of these on the recommendations I found here, and find it to be a great investment... I have had mine for only a few weeks though, so I'm not sure how long it can be expected to last before the blade dulls.

Re: what cutter do you all recommend?

I'm going to recommend a Xikar Mean Sardine, my local shop has them 2 for $20 or 12.99 a piece. They always give me a clean cut.

I got a Xikar 2 for under $30. It works great and is self sharpening.

invest in a Xicar, they are very well priced at www.tampahumidor.com. They have a lifetime warranty, you won't be sorry.

Re: what cutter do you all recommend?

Its worth is to invest in a high quality cutter. Think about it, if you are spending 4-6 dollars on a stick, what is $25 or so on a cutter? A good stogie deserves a clean cut. Go with the Xikar.

Did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Had a pretty impressive blood blister for a few days.

I like Xikar, and Zino, and I'm going to get the Palio soon.

Mine survived about 6 months before it was to dull for a clean cut. I like em.

I have one of those too, it is a very good cutter and I like it better than my Xikar. It is a nice double bladed guillotine with gold plated screws and mahogany handles, it looks very nice and cuts clean every time. Plus it won't pinch the living sh*t out of you like the Xikar either.

Xikar 2 for just over $20 from the devil.

I have a Xikar, and I'm very happy with it. Though I find myself using the Cuban Crafters jsut about as often.

Re: what cutter do you all recommend?

I have an Xikar 2 and really like it. Just got another from the CBid. Very cool to pull out and always gets a "what the hell is that" from unsuspecting people. Besides they cut great and are way sharp. Threw my old one out the car window after it crushed instead of cut a CAO Piazza.

Erick, REALLY get yourself a Havana Cigar Cutter (or 3) at bargainhumidors.com. I have been recommending them for some time now, and everyone who has taken my advice and picked one up has agreed they give an amazing cut.

For a decent looking great cutting high end one I still recommend Palio. It will run you around $40 though. They do not look as fancy as a Xikar, however the design of the Palio allows for less blade deflection than any other double blade cutter I have used.

The meansardine by Xikar another ape mentioned deserves an honorable mention as well - very good cutter for not a lot of $.
