Re: what cutter do you all recommend?

I keep hearing people talk about how their cutters get dull?? They will over time but not for a very long time.... These blades are made from Stainless Steel which for the most part keep a decent edge, so if your just cutting cigars it shouldn't dull much at all.

I think what happens is the Tobacco Gum builds up on your cutters after a while and makes them appear dull. Everyone should throw your cutters in the dish washing machine once in awhile and that should take care of it.

I noticed one of my little "havana" cutters started smashing the cigars a little bit, so I gave it a good wash and it's as good as new.

I'd try this first before throwing my cutter out....

Just my 2 cents.

Re: what cutter do you all recommend?

This thread convinced me to order the Havana cutter. I fricken love it. It's nice and slim and if you cut your cigars the way I do, by laying the cutter flat on a table and placing the cigar vertical, it gives the cap a perfect shave.

I've just had one problem with it. If you snap the blade open and don't restrict it with your hand, it will sometimes open up too much and the blade will go off-track and won't close. You'll have to wiggle the blade to get it back on track. First time this happened I almost busted the thing.

I'm a Palio man as well..........however, half the time, I can't find it and I end up getting a $2-3 cheapie and they work just fine...........they just need replacement a lot sooner.
