In Your Face Mrs. Olsen

I have been bringing in some of my coffee to work each morning. It beats the hell out of the Folgers they usually make. Today I brought in some Ethiopian Longberry Harrar roasted about 30 seconds past the start of second crack. I brewed a pot in the drip machine and I got this email:

THIS by far, is the best pot of coffee you have made yet! I don’t have time in the morning to make any coffee for myself, with a screaming 2 year old to get ready and take to daycare. I really look forward to your yummy coffee everyday now. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us! I LOVE IT!

Actually, this is a nice cup today. I think letting the beans rest a few days helped. Sometimes I brew what I roasted the night before. But I am getting better, but am already feeling limited by the Fresh Roast 8.

It is not consistant enough as far as the temberature and roasting time goes. I am considering a SC/CO set up already. But the FR8 will always be great for small batches.

By the way, I am very fond of Mrs. Olsen AND her face. I think it is unfair to hold her responsible for the trespasses of the liars in the Folgers marketing department. I think I maybe read somewhere that they tricked that poor, naive, honest, little small-town beauty into doing the advertisements by giving her some proper homeroast and telling her it was Folgers. Mrs. Olsen was a very good person - besides being a hot babe, as we all know.

How about, "In your face, hazelnut-vanilla pods!" as an alternative?

Well, it was Floger's that is usually brewed, and she was their face!!!

She is a symbol for a product made up by ad agency just like just Nancy the Bounty Waitress, the Chinese Laundry Owner, Mr. Whipple, Budman, those stupid cavemen, the Twinkie the Kid and Florence Henderson Hell, she was not even Swedish!!! The accent was fake and she was a housewife/part time actress from Iowa. They should come out with a new line of commercials using Tiger Wood's wife's Twin sister as their new Mrs. Olsen.

I rest my case as the numbers continue to pour in. 16 to 5 in favor or Mrs. Olsen. A couple of old guys totally missed the boat but everyone else sees past the plain yellow print dress, the incredible nosiness and the Folgers patsy accusations as I expected they would. End of story.
