Bodum Double Wall Glasses

My local Tuesday Morning Store had these on clearance:

They are Bodum Pilatus Double Wall thermal glasses in Medium and large. I have been using them for a few weeks now and they are great!!! You can pour hot coffee right out of the press into the glass. The heat does not get into the outside layer of glass so they are comfortable to hold, even more so than a mug. And there is little condensation when you drink something cold.

I also got 4 of the Pavina Shot Glasses. They make my Espresso look great!!!

My only complaint is they feel delicate. I do not want to put them in the dishwasher though I am sure they can take it.

Thanks for the endorsement.

I have been eyeing these up since I started down the coffee slope which I call Mt. Moo. I thought they would be to thin to stay cool but after reading this I plan to pick up a set or two.

Dag... Mt. Moo. Word up on Mt. Moo. You're my new hero.

Yo Alppie! I ordered a few supplies from Chris' Coffee the other day and tossed on a couple of those double-walled shot glasses to make freight. I was hoping they were the real deal for pouring shots. Thanks for the post.

They have not cracked under the heat and you can hold them without a problem. I just feel like I am drinking out of a lightbulb sometimes.

Tough stuff, borosilicate. I have a Bodum teapot that is also thin-walled borosilicate and it sorta gives me the heebie-jeebies when I bump it - so far, unbreakable.

Re: Bodum Double Wall Glasses

i almost bought some double walled glasses off amazon.com until i read the reviews and everyone said it was a nightmare trying to keep these from breaking. Still nifty and unique glasses though, might still give them a chance.

Re: Bodum Double Wall Glasses

I bought the 3oz espresso-sized version of these glasses a few weeks ago, and love them.

$10 bucks for the pair, and I throw them in the dishwasher and in the sink without worry.

I love how they keep the coffee hot while not heating the outside of the glass making it easy to hold. I like them so much, I think I'm going to pick up a few more pairs.

dang it - why oh why couldn't I have logged on and seen this earlier?
Now if I order some of these Moo will, once again, point a finger at me and say nothing...but the look on his face will scream "lemming".

I guess I have seen big thick Pyrex lasagna pans shatter into dozens of peices before. So I am was little learry of these glasses. I think it is probably a case of them being stronger than you think they are, but not as durable as what you may be used to.

Re: Bodum Double Wall Glasses

Mr M'oo and Bigwaved were kind enough to get Danielle and I two pairs of these for our wedding and we love them! Not only is it a treat to use them for coffee on the weekends when we don't require travel mugs to work; I find they are perfect for rum and other fine spirits!

These are awesome. Got a four pack of the espresso glasses as a wedding gift. They are fantastic.
