I just worked 20hours plowing and come home to NO more filters, and I am not going back out. is there a way around this for one day? Or do I ned to buy a cup of coffee tomorrow and more filters?

On a side note.........What filters are the best from the local supermarket?

Re: Ran out of filters

did you already throw out the last filter that you did use?
if not, give it a rinse and use that.

once in a while if i'm desperate, i skip the paper filter...
otherwise.... have a french press?
or if no french press, have a strainer?

Re: Ran out of filters

I have used just a plain ole paper towel before.
Line the basket with the towel, take some scissors and trim off the excess.
Add a extra scoop to make it a little stronger..

I do not have the gold style filter. Just the plastic holder. I am using a Krups 1500xp.

The papertowel may have to do the trick.

If it has the builtin you're not supposed to use the paper...

I once cut the crotch out of.....oh wait, that was something else.

Paper towel will work great. The biggest hazard is when you go to remove it after the brew. Be careful cuz they can tear pretty easily and make quite a mess.

Re: Ran out of filters

Believe it or not, I watched my wife's grandma brew coffee in Brazil and she basically put the ground beans in a mesh sock and boiled a pot and out the sock in.

Tasted ok and she's been doing it that way for 70 years.
