Baratza Virtuoso arrives tomorrow...

Long time listener, first time caller.

Ok, perhaps not, but I haven't been spending much time on CS, or it's stupendously endearing coffee subforum lately, but have actually posted a few in the last week! Good for me.

Which brings me to this relatively useless post...

MY NEW GRINDER GETS HERE TOMORROW!!!

I went with the "risky" venture and bought a refurb Baratza Virtuoso directly from Baratza. Figured that while refurbished might be a bit of an issue for some, I was OK with buying one right from the manufacturer. (I always by refurbished Dell CPUs, eh?)

Pics and noob report (of my first french-pressing) sure to follow.

I have a non-refurbished model that works just great (except on oily beans), you will be much pleased with the up-dated model.

What brewing method will you be grinding beans for?

A french press and a nice padron anni sounds good. I'm still trying to master my Whirly Bird Technique, times are tough.

, no problem with oily beans. very simple machine, I can't imagine a refurb being anything but as good as new.

Factory warranteed/refurb - good.

Well... all I've currently got is a nice french press (apart from the regular ol' cheap drip coffee maker)... so anxious to see what a consistent, larger coarse grind will do for the french press. I'll be looking for new methods a bit more, now that I'm going to have a fancy grinder.

I made some relatively benign comment about photoshop and one of Moo's prior posts... and I suspect some mischief may thus ensue.


Oh yeah. Work was a nightmare today. Didn't get to where I needed to get to to pick up the grinder. D'oh! Probably wasn't going to experiment until Saturday a.m. anyhow. Rat farts.
