Should be there Friday. There's something special in there just for you -- perishable in this world of the coffee forum, so you should be able to figure out what it is. Lemme put it this way, it was born this week.

Should I post my puts and takes here???

Up to you. I'm like the mystery!

FWIW, USPS Priority Mail would cost a *lot* more.... UPS would be a little more than FedEx.
UPS also bangs packages around a lot more than either FedEx or the USPS in my experience.

Regarding posting puts/takes, I like mystery too!

Thanks for letting Doug in on this. If he screws up, just tell me. I know where he lives and I own a nasty tire iron.

Got the package yesterday, appears everything made it safely. Haven't had a chance to use the pot yet, hopefully today.

Re: Brikka Moka Pot Slow Pass

Put the pot to the first test this morning. Having the water measuring cup is a nice addition. I did not press the grinds down like I do with my regular moka pot.

I was amazed at how it works, rather than the slow trickle it had a tiny bit come out, then POOF! it all shoots out and it's done. The creama looked way better. I poured into my cup and a little bit held.

One big difference is the strength. I use about double the coffee in the regular moka pot than in this one. I'm still undecided which I prefer though. More testing will be required.

Yes, testing is what this is all about. Great way to compare the pots. Good job. Keep on moking.

Re: Brikka Moka Pot Slow Pass

I'll have it going out FedEx ground to EvanS today.

Thanks for letting me have the opportunity to partake. Was really interesting seeing the difference between this and the regular pot.

Great - thanks D.

So, are you not gonna bias me with either tales of Brikka woe or sweeping epic adventures of Slacker Creama? People wanna know, they wanna know, they wanna know...and they want it now

Check out my pics earlier in the thread, Veruca Salt. They tell a large part of the story, imho. Having never used the manual device, I can't compare; but I'm gonna get a Brikka in the future....

Re: Brikka Moka Pot Slow Pass

I didn't take pics because the Prof posted some good ones. I found the creama to be better, but prefer the strength you can get from the regular. Great to be able to try and it and I could see owning both at some point.

Evan, I'll PM you the Fedex number so not everyone sees your address.

For the love of Pete - seems Moo bumped off Syekick and assumed his screen name

Gotta tell ya, it's just like Prof and Mennis said....easy as pie to get great results. Prof's pics were exactly what I got on both passes so far tonight. And this thing heats up in 1/3 the time of my Mokapot. I followed directions for the first brew, using grinds that were similar to what you'd use for drip. Bingo, anyone can do it. Next I recalled what Mennis said about wanting stronger brew so I dialed the grinds down to just a little coarser than Mokapot grind. This made it noticably stronger and gave about the same crema.

Tomorrow I think I will brew some using UB's El Mayimbe...lets see what that chocolate flavor does up in here.

Cool thing you got going here Joe. And to think, all these years Moo could have been enjoying his coffee instead of trying to figure out how to make it.
