Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

That sounds good Norman.

Just working through an accidental 50/50 mix of Indonesian Timor and Panama beans. OK stuff but nothing specatular.

Kenya Oaklands 398 Auction lot today, less than 24 hours from roast slammin'. Trust me, I cannot wait to taste this tomorrow. I love this bean.

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

Started the morning with 10-day rested (forgotten) El Salvador CoE bella Vista. OMG this went to absolute shite!! Sour, bitter, chemical taste. ugh, ughugh and ughughugh. Never seen this before. It even smelled horrible before brewing.

But never fear...4 day rested UB's Negrita Blend to VG 2nd crack quickly made that fiasco a distant memory.

Rwanda Golden Cup Winner Station 5. Right outta the roaster. Can't wait to taste it again Monday. Sweet and clean from head to tail. Slight cherry in background as it cools. A true treat. City roast.

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

City roasted Idido Misty Valley, lots of other flavors besides berry become apparent at this roast level. I prefer it at full city.

Be well.

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

It's so hard to be consistant with the Misty valley...

Today it's 2/3's of my cup, diluted with some Kenyan Peaberry DC. As you might quess, it is very fruity, but maybe a touch to acidic.

Espresso Italiano. A really decent Espresso for the price from Coffee Wholesale USA, a company I stumbled across on the web about 5 years ago from whom I have been buying a good deal of my beans ever since.

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

French pressed Negrita. Outstanding.

And sorry Dan, no testing by leaving it in the press. Everything out of the press in 4 minutes.

Early bird gets the worm. An explosive cup of Ethiopian Aricha 7. Tremendous berry, floral aromas that opens your senses like a can of Spam....LOL. Be well.

Ethiopian Yirg Grade two. Delicious, even with the sticker shock.

YES!!! Sanity prevails.

UB's El Mayimbe roasted to C+ 2 days ago. Very nice, chewy, sweet nougat with a tang. I bet this gets fuller at a little darker, huh?

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

Had some more of the above-mentioned UB El Mayimbe...now 3 days rested. WOW - an explosion of chocolate and caramel with a heavy undertone that I can't descrtibe as a taste, per se. But it "fills" the liquid with body. Sweet, sweet - wife again had a little with no cream or sugar. I think even novasurf might drink this black
