Question Whats In Your Mill Today?

With Christmas gifts to buy, the budget is stretched thin. Unfortunately, when this happens, fresh roasted coffee gets cut out, and Eight O`Clock moves in.

As inexpensive coffees go, Eight O`Clock is one of the best. I think it beats of Maxwell House, Folgers, and the rest of that shite.

Here is what got ground today:

The owner at my B&M was serving Community Chicory coffee this morning. Inexpensive, but different.

Re: Whats In Your Mill Today?

Ground up some Colombian Peaberry - Caracol de Narino this morning. Nice way to kickstart the day my friends.

I'm really hoping I get a roaster for Christmas. Anyone ever order from Coffee Bean Corral?

Yes, I have. They're a pretty good outfit and fairly inexpensive. They're selection is a bit smaller than someone like Sweet Maria's or CCM, but they are a good supplier.

Kenya Gran Cru from Allegro - they sell it at whole foods markets' I usually give a pound at Christmas to the family and friends who enjoy a nice cup. It makes a very well balanced cup.

This morning was 30% ea. NicNic & Sumatra and 20% ea. Mexican Chiapas & Guatamala. Very decent cappuccinos this morning. It runs out tomorrow morning - the roaster gets fired up tonight after work. Woo hoo. What cigar to go with?

BTW, Some food magazine (Cooking Illustrated?) reported Eight O'Clock as one of the best commercial brands in an interesting article. I agree with you - it's mostly Eight O'Clock when I go-grocery coffee.
