Looking for a solid Espresso E.S.E machine

I'm looking to get into the world of an espresso machine, but as a beginner, I would like to just pick up an E.S.E pod machine to start out with. Something that is pretty plug and play newb friendly that is about $300 or so. Is there anything that fits this bill?

Thanks!

As much as I would advise against it from my own experience, since I did the same. Get a Nespresso machine, a lot of times you can find them used on Craigs or ebay.

In regards to POD machines, the quality seems to be the best. Shots were full of crema and pretty flavorful... but seemed on the thin side. The frothing part was difficult, I had to get a separate hand frother.

And you have to buy the pods through Nespresso (Nestle).

I had mine for 3 months, got sick of the cost... sold it and got a couple moka pots... and now have an anita on the way.

This here is really what you need:

Get the 2-cupper and enjoy some very cheap thrills, as seen here by someone who although isn't me, still shows what the brikka is capable of.

Re: Looking for a solid Espresso E.S.E machine

Although I'm still using my cheapo Melitta boiler type machine ($20 at Target in 03), I've heard nothing but good things about the Starbuck Barrista model. Once a year, around Xmas they'll put them on sale for a deep discount usually around $239. The machine IS Italian and built like a brick! High BAR and heavy filter group and accepts PODS. Go to coffeegeek.com. By-the-by, I'd shy away from ALL used machines and when you get one, use bottled water to reduce deposits. (adj for inflation)
