5 Vegas Estate Grown Expresso

I just brewed a batch of this after picking up a half pound on cbid for $5.00 or $7.00. Don't have an expresso machine and wouldn't know how to work it if I did, so I just drip brewed it like everything else. Note that I did not brew it as a true expresso strength, but at about four and a half ounces to a scoop.

As strong as it smells in the bag, it was not overly bitter and had a nice taste. Speaking of the raw beans, they had a strong earthy smell, dark and shiny, some so shiny they gleamed from the oil. When this was brewing, you could tell it was going to be a bold cup.

Don't know that I can give the kind of descriptive review that some here are capable of. I can say it definitely fits what I would expect out of a darker roast. Not a lot of native sweetness like a JBM, but plenty of flavor and it seemed pretty complex to me, with a bolder finish than start, and a lingering little something that I can't put my finger on. This would go down great as an after dinner cup, or for those who enjoy a more up front coffee taste.

Ok, so it's been a while have you picked up an expresso machine and if so how is the 5 Vegas?
