Starbucks' management blames the economy, too.

I, on the other hand, blame Starbucks management & their faulty development strategy.

FTA:
"Most customers whose Starbucks stores close will be a short walk from a caffeine fix, the company said, because many of the unprofitable stores were being cannibalized by nearby Starbucks locations."

The same thing happened to 7-Eleven & McDonald's domestic operations some years ago--market oversaturation. The economy was only part of the problem. Those companies had to turn their expansion attention to international growth. Starbucks is looking at the same types of opportunities.

I never could see the sense in a $5 cup of coffee that IMO really isn't all that good. Most of their brands are super bitter and this from a person who drinks chickory coffee daily.

When I did stop in because of a friend I used to love asking for a large coffe. Standard answer "We don't have a large coffee". My answer... see the little cup, "yes", see the larger cup in the middle "yes", then guess what that makes the cup on the extreme right.... The LARGE cup

Now's your chance to pickup all the used / refurbished Starbucks coffee equipment. They are bound to have something we can use.

Who ever said cigar snobbery isn't allowed? They're both perfectly acceptable.
