Re: First set of Green Beans
Don't use glass anything - use metal bowls and strainers for catching and cooling.
3/4 lb. is more than any popper can handle. Best fill method I know is: -use the popper lid to keep beans from flying out (until it finally melts, at which time you'll have figured out something else, better. -tip popper back about 10* to facilitate a tumbling motion and secure it. -turn it on and slowly fill with green beans (about 1/3 cup) until they are just barely tumbling. -stir with a chopstick to keep them moving until they agitate on their own. -listen for the cracking sound(s) and watch for the release of smoke that usually precedes the cracking sounds. -watch Tristan's video Welcome to RoasterWorld.
