It's official...

This site is evil. I found this site as an occasional smoker...well...

Last week, I posted an introduction in the wrong (coffee) forum. Thanks Mr. Moo for your kind response. Now, I am ordering beans and bidding on a popcorn popper.

My wife is a huge fane of popcorn - loves it- so when she saw that I was bidding on an old school popper she thought I was being sweet. I didn't have the heart to tell what it is really for.

"Evil" is ClubStogies' middle name. We are happy to be here, witness, as it were, to your slow descent into coffee madness.

Hard to explain it. I was out on the deck last night around dark (45* and wet from recent rain) to roast a couple of pounds in the MooB'Q. It would have been quicker, easier and warmer to stop by the grocery store and pick up a pound of beans to tide us by until sunshine, dry and warm(er) conditions. No way, though. I'd rather drink tea than go back to coffee other than freshly roasted

When UncleBeanz sent me a small sample of a recent roast he described as "speechless" my expectations weren't really that high. Fact was, three of use sat around a pot of the stuff and agreed it was the best coffee we'd ever tasted (by a wide margin) - Mrs. Moo and I nodded in agreement on "speechless".

Once you start this way it's hard to go back. My heart breaks for you.

I don't think so. I think it only goes to first class schmucks.

Check out lot 27. Looks like it's for well-heeled schmucks - http://www.unclebeanz.com/merchant2/...y_Code=SinglOr

27 bucks! Well heeled is right.

Once I get the milk and sugar mixed in, combined with my primitive pallate, it would be a waste.

Indeed Moo. I paid $15 for the Daterra Opus 1 Exotic. Norm spoke highly of it.....looking forward to trying it. $20 for 12oz of ground beans isnt bad when you look at the price of liquor, soda, or espresso coffee.

Everyone over here at the Moo Estate was pretty sure the Lot 27 was the best coffee they'd ever had - maybe the best example of what coffee could/should be for all I know. Clearly the price of everything except political promises is on the rise; wasn't that long ago I was cheerfully dipping pretty good green beans out of burlap bags for $2.00/lb. While those days are vanished I don't see me snarfing up a lot of $20-$30/lb green beans, either. Still, every so often, it's nice to see what the people with IHT-type money are sipping.

I remember when I could spend money willy nilly, then I got these damn hobbies, cigars, pipes, coffee roasting, rc truck racing, wife and child, now I have to live like the average Joe with only great cigars, pipes, coffee, rc trucks, and wife and child to enjoy.

Re: It's official...

To be clear, I ain't tryin' to sell anyone on 27. It is what it is.

I know that on its surface it appears that the price of 27 may leave you speechless...LOL.

Think of it this way: how much do you pay for a glass of wine in a restaurant/bar? There's house wine, mediocre wine and top flight stuff.

Aricha 27 is top flight. And we have others coming in. At $1.98 per 12 oz cup, 27 is a steal quality wise. No doubt.

Esmeralda for $99 is nothing. I once dreamed that I had died and was served up 1/4 pound of this nectar of the gods that was called Gesha and was well worth both the debt and the premature death .......

Too be young and a lotto winner ......
