Aack! what to do, what to do...

So my Cuisinart Brew Central now drips water (never having touched coffee) into the carafe with the brewed coffee. Yuck! Therefore I am in the market for a new brewer.

I posted about a super espresso.

I posted about a technivorm.

The superesresso...expensive and I am not sure it is what I want. Would like to try it first.

Technivorm? They are out of stock until December. Everywhere in America.

What have I been doing in the meantime? Pouring over in my cuisinart. Maybe I should just keep doing that. It just takes forever.

Any thoughts?

PS the coffee tastes pretty good!

French Press

I boxed up my precious drip months ago that was a wedding gift, don't ever plan on using it again.

My next purchase is a vacpot.

Technivorm is my choice and recommendation. Keep it clean keep it well used and it will provide the best brewed coffee for years...... Mine is going on 4 years with 12-15 carafes a week and never a problem. Unfortunately the company has now instituted a minimum retail pricing policy ........... Grrrrrrr.....

The stainless, thermal-walled 48-oz Bodum Columbia is getting my spectacular rating, still, after a few years. No flaws.

Set water aboil - four to six minutes
grind coffee and dump into the press
pour water and set timer for four minutes

It's a nine-10 minute deal so, for many, I can see attraction of a good autodrip.

I don''t know Mr. Moo, but French Press coffee shouldn't stay in contact with the grounds for more than 10 minutes after the pressing, which makes it, to me at least, a single round brewer. Now a big cannon like that 48oz Columbia would be fine IF the grounds were immediately removed following the press motion. Otherwise, the coffee continues to extract and evilness lies on that path! The 12 oz Columbia would be less likely to allow that.
