Bodum Columbia

I've only seen this online and I like the carafe idea but do the grounds sit in the carafe or is there a removable insert?

Re: Bodum Columbia

grounds just sit in there like a regular french press. so yes, overextraction can occur if you are going to use it for the thermal feature to keep coffee warm for an extended period of time. but I just bought it cause i was sick of the glass breaking on my press.

After extensive scientific research, distinguished coffee drinkers conclude overextraction and bitterness from a well-rested french press is urban legand. http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthr...ghlight=bitter

Get you a Bodum Columbia, the bigger the better, and use it for the rest of your life - there is none better. Leave a cup or two in the bottom, pour it the next morning and heat it up in the microwave. Say what you want but you won't say "bitter and overextracted".
