Re: Salt Coffee!?!

One time, I woke up really early and grabbed was I thought was the sugar bowl. Put 1 tbl spoon of "sugar" in my coffee a stirred it through. I took my first drink and quickly discovered it was salt instead. I broke the world record for the 20 yard sprint and spit that stuff right out.

Salt; a little goes a long way.

It will be a long time before I would even think about putting that in my drink ... if ever.

Re: Salt Coffee!?!

The top of the top coffee cuppers use salt to coax out a coffee's sweetness. As discussed in China Daily....I'll stick to apiary gold.

Re: Salt Coffee!?!

I put a couple of shakes of salt on top of the grounds in my drip maker because .. well .. my grandfather liked it that way and thats how my mother made it. Can't tell much of a difference with this low salt level but it definitely isn't salty.

Re: Salt Coffee!?!

Back when I used to bartend, I had a regular who would consistently put about 3 shakes of salt into his Amber Bock.

I've only had salty coffee once, when I was at a restaurant, and some douche tampered with the salt and sugar dispensers.

Re: Salt Coffee!?!

I always thought salt in coffee was a Navy thing.

Being an Air Force Crew dog for years I became a purveyor of bad coffee. For most of that coffee, salt would have probably helped.
