peets Major Dickason's blend for espresso?

Has anyone tried this blend for espresso? It sounds appealing to me because

a. I can buy it in the supermarket
b. they at least recognize the importance of freshness, even if off the shelf is not as fresh as ordered from the web
c. it sounds like a good blend for espresso

Peet's Major D is a good choice if you can pick it up locally. You can use it as a bench mark against other coffees. Try as many different espresso blends that you can....Black Cat, Dancing Goats, etc. Not all at once, over time.

After tasting, you'll be able to taste the differences between blends. It is from there that you decide your "go-to" blend.

Hope this helps.

Love Peet's coffee. Luckily, there's several locally. I like their Espresso Forte better for espresso, but Major Dickason is a great all around blend. I think they do mailorder from web also.

hmmmmm I happen to be drinking a cup of Maor Dickason's right now lol.
First time I had this I thought it would make great espresso, its extremely full bodied- almost too much for a regular cup of coffee but it has a lot of good flavors to it. I bet it would be better as espresso actually.

If I tried them all at once I would be in the ER with a heart condition from all the caffeine!

Thanks for the advice...I am looking forward to the learning experience

I second that- when I was in training back in high school at Starbucks I had to learn how to make espresso- which meant tasting lots of espresso- which meant me feeling like I was going to die after my 10th or so shot.

I had to be hospitalized for chemical cardioversion (and they were getting the electric shock paddles ready but never had to use them) after some atrial fibrilation a few years ago. I have cut back on caffeine...maybe this new espresso maker is a bad idea!!
