Old Zassenhaus
I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this (I've never really looked around the coffee side of this site too much) but I am wanting to buy a burr grinder and have pretty much settled on the Zassenhaus manual ones. I love the simplicity, price, and don't mind the effort whatever that may be.
I am just wondering if a vintage one off E-bay is a good idea or not. Do parts on them wear out? I am asking for trouble from an old grinder like this?

Re: Old Zassenhaus
Well, I did some research and realized that judging from completed auctions you only save about 10 bucks sometimes 20 after shipping and what not on ebay. Just went wit the new one.

Where are you ordering from and for what prices are you getting?

Re: Old Zassenhaus
It just arrived actually, I ordered it from Espressozone.com it was 69 bucks with 7 and change for shipping- no tax. This was one of the only sites that was not on back order for these grinders but it was also one of the cheapest.
Unfortunately most of the ones on E-bay (not many) are from the same German seller and involve 32 bucks shipping. Even the other ones are going for mid 50's plus whatever shipping- at least they have good resale value I suppose ![]()

Re: Old Zassenhaus
Congrats on the purchase! I own a Zass Knee Mill that I love. It mainly gets used to grind for my Chemex pour over.
