Coffee Blends

Any coffee blenders here? I often experiment with different blends. I have forund that some coffee's blend well some don't. Blending a less expensive bean with a more expensive bean will bring up the quality of the flavor. My go to blend is a mix of Costa Rican Tarrazu and Kenya AA (equal amounts). I have found that these 2 high end beans really complement each other. I really like blending African beans with beans I don't care for. A few years ago I got some Brazilian I really did not like. When I mixed it with Ethiopian it was great. Any other blends out there?

Re: Coffee Blends

I've always liked blending Kenyan AA with Sumatran or Celebes. It kinda brings the Indonesians up out of the mud and puts a bit of temper on the Kenyans brightness.

Re: Coffee Blends

I'm an espresso blender; I try to get it right and keep it right for a houseful of critics. This appears impossible. My goal for CY2006 will be "possible blending".

Good luck buddy. I do a Kenya French Roast and many cheer but the wife refuses to drink it. Kona Peabody @ Full City and she is happy but no one else. Try my blend above, I have yet to have anyone hate it and it works well as an espresso coffee. If fact I had a non coffee drinker offer me what he thought was the ultimate complement, "This is as good as Starbucks!" I let him down easy and suggested he take a cup of my coffee and a cup of starbucks and do a side my side. He did, when he came back he asked me why mine wasn't bitter?

LOL
